QPR confirm Washington’s departure ahead of Sheffield United move

QPR have confirmed that Conor Washington’s contract has been terminated by mutual consent.

West London Sport earlier revealed that Washington, 26, was set to leave Rangers and join Sheffield United.

The 26-year-old struggled following his move to Loftus Road from Peterborough in 2016. His contract was due to expire at the end of the season.

He slipped further down the pecking order of strikers following Rangers’ recent loan signings of Tomer Hemed and Nahki Wells.

The Northern Ireland international made 92 league appearances for QPR, with 34 of those coming as a substitute, and scored 13 goals.

Meanwhile, Rangers are looking to complete a deal to sign Stoke’s Geoff Cameron on loan ahead of Friday’s 5pm deadline.
