Bonne ‘could be a very good signing’ for QPR – Gallen

Former QPR forward Kevin Gallen believes new signing Macauley Bonne has all the attributes to be a success as Loftus Road.

Gallen had two stints at his boyhood club, chalking up more than 400 appearances and experiencing promotion in the process.

He was part of FootballNet’s ‘Watch-A-Long’ as fans watched the Sheffield Wednesday game alongside ex-players and fellow Rangers fans Marc Bircham and Lee Cook to celebrate the release of the new ‘FootballNet QPR app’.

And Gallen believes that striker Bonne, who signed from Charlton earlier this month, could be a coup for the club.

He said: “He’s very quick, very direct. He’s done well for Charlton in a sort of struggling team. But he has some attributes that could make him a very good player for us.

“He can play off either side or through the middle – but he offers something a little bit different to Lyndon Dykes, so I can see why the club have gone for him

“He could do a bit better conversion rate and putting away some of the chances but he has a lot of potential and there’s a lot to work with.

“I think he’s willing to learn and I know he has a really good work-ethic.

“What’s key is that he seems like he is coachable and that’s something that we’re obviously looking for in players these days.

“He has a lot to learn and some stuff to develop but it could be a very good signing for us so hopefully it all works out.”
