Bolton and Stevenage want QPR keeper Cooper
Bolton are interested in QPR goalkeeper Murphy Cooper.
The 23-year-old, previously known as Murphy Mahoney, has impressed during a season on loan at Stevenage, who would like him to return to them for next season.
Bolton, who finished eighth in League One – six places above Stevenage – are also keen, while a number of other clubs have discussed the possibility of making QPR an offer.
Rangers are unlikely to want to sell Cooper as it has long been the club’s hope that either he or Joe Walsh will eventually become established as the number one keeper at Loftus Road.
Cooper made 40 appearances for Stevenage, keeping 16 clean sheets, and was voted the club’s young player of the year.
He spent the previous season on loan at Swindon Town in League Two, playing 25 times.
Cooper has made two first-team appearances for QPR, both of which were in April 2022.
Meanwhile, Rangers confirmed on Friday evening that the club have taken up an option to extend Michael Frey’s contact.
