QPR to make decision on Kelman’s future

Marti Cifuentes says QPR will make a decision on the future of Charlie Kelman this summer.

The striker, 23, was given a new contract in January last year but was not in R’s head coach Cifuentes’ plans before joining Leyton Orient on a season-long loan.

Kelman has impressed for the League One side, scoring 12 goals, and a number of clubs have shown an interest in potentially signing him when his loan spell finishes.

“When we send any player on loan the main target is that they can play, can develop and progress,” Cifuentes said.

“That’s the case with him and it’s not just about the goals but the level of his performances has been very good.

“Hopefully he will finish the season very strongly, and we will decide what’s the next step with him.”

Kelman was signed by QPR from Southend United in October 2020 and has been unable to establish himself as a first-team regular.

He has made 26 appearances for Rangers – mostly as a substitute – and has not scored for the club.
