Captain Hill signs new Rangers contract

Clint Hill has signed a new one-year deal at QPR.

The Rangers skipper, out of contract this summer, had made it clear that he wanted to stay at Loftus Road.

He recently told West London Sport he was keen to re-sign even if his first-team chances were likely to diminish – and he previously hinted that the coming season could be his last as a player.

Hill, who turns 36 in October, has been working with QPR’s academy players on an informal basis and is hoping to secure a formal coaching role at the club next year.

Rangers’ play-off triumph against Derby at Wembley in May was his 150th appearance for the club since his arrival from Crystal Palace four years ago.
