Beale confirms QPR were not in for Parrott

Michael Beale has confirmed that Tottenham striker Troy Parrott was not a target for QPR.

Parrot has been linked with Rangers during successive transfer windows but the club have never been in the running to sign him.

The Republic of Ireland international recently joined Preston on loan, prompting reports that he had decided against a move to Loftus Road.

“There was no truth in that,” Beale said.

“He’s not a boy that I know well, to be honest. I know he’s done well, but he’s never been in our plans in terms of being a player that we were looking to bring in.

“I wish him well up there at Preston. I know their manager Ryan Lowe and he can help Troy. But he was never on the radar here at QPR.”

Head coach Beale is keen to bring in at least one striker before the transfer window closes.

Sinclair Armstrong, 19, will travel with the squad for Saturday’s season opener against Blackburn and Beale is expected to give the youngster a chance during the early stages of the campaign.
