Bosingwa barracked as Rangers lose again

Fans turned on Jose Bosingwa as QPR’s final home match of a shambolic season ended in yet another defeat.

Relegated Rangers were leading through Loic Remy’s early penalty before Bosingwa helped Newcastle into a winning position.

The former Chelsea defender gave away a penalty by tugging the shirt of Hatem Ben Arfa, who fired home from the spot.

And when Bosingwa’s characteristically casual back-pass played Rob Green into trouble, the keeper’s hurried clearance was charged down by Jonas Gutierrez and the resulting loose ball fell to Yoan Gouffran, who netted from 25 yards.

Bosingwa was subsequently booed by the angry Loftus Road faithful and substituted by boss Harry Redknapp at half-time along with Stephane Mbia, who was almost as hapless.

Newcastle, now safe from the drop, ended the match with 10 men after keeper Rob Elliot was sent off in the 81st minute for handling the ball outside his area, but Rangers were unable to capitalise.

Junior Hoilett, who won their 10th-minute penalty by tricking Mathieu Debuchy into a foul, sent a second-half effort wide of the target.

At the other end, R’s substitute Shaun Derry cleared off the line following a goalmouth scramble.
