Bond has talks as QPR seek Yun agreement

Kevin Bond spoke to his South Korea counterpart Kim Tae-young on Friday as QPR continued their efforts to secure Yun Suk-young’s availability for the play-off final.

Talks between Kim and Rangers assistant manager Bond took place 24 hours after a formal appeal was made to the Korea Football Association requesting that Yun be allowed to play against Derby.

Kim is the assistant to national team coach Hong Myung-bo who, according to reports in Seoul, wants the left-back at a pre-World Cup training camp and is refusing to compromise.

Fifa rules mean South Korea can stop Yun playing in the Wembley clash on 24 May because May 19-25 has been designated as an ‘official rest period’ for all players selected for the tournament in Brazil, the only exception being the Champions League final.

Rangers have been given permission by Croatia to select Niko Kranjcar and are confident Yun, 24, will also be able to play.

Yun, signed in January last year, has impressed during recent appearances for Rangers, which included a lively display as a second-half substitute in Monday’s play-off semi-final triumph against Wigan.
