Holloway ‘bitterly disappointed’ by QPR sacking
Ian Holloway has said he is “bitterly disappointed” by his recent sacking by QPR but that it was “a privilege and honour” to manage the club twice.
Holloway’s second spell at the helm was brought to an end when he was axed in favour of Steve McClaren. He had a year remaining on his contract.
In a statement released through the League Manager’s Association, Holloway said: “It has been a privilege and honour to have been QPR manager not once but twice, for over 300 matches.
“I am bitterly disappointed to have been asked to leave the club, but I proudly believe it is in a better place than when I arrived.
“I’m sure the club will go on from strength to strength and I thank the fans for their wonderful passion and the support they gave me and my team.
“I thoroughly enjoyed my tenure and wish the club all the very best for the future. Come on you Rs!”

Personally I think holloway lacked the skill to take us forward, any person who doesn’t know his best 11 game on game is hardly inspiring look at all the top teams in our league and you can see that consistency is what is required.

Seems to me the club reacts all too often to twitter moaning. As @hook rightly points out, memories are short. Two brilliant tenures at the club which will be forgotten by most because of statistics.

We as supporters could not have had anyone else other than you to save Queen’s Park Ranges from the basket cases you have taken on TWICE.
Many have short memory’s but thanks again for saving our club once again.

I’m not sure releasing Holloway is a positive move.
I don’t believe mclaren has the ability or knowledge to improve our youngsters.
I think Gareth ainsworth coming in to work alongside Holloway would have been a much better option. Ainsworth has worked well at Wycombe & needs to step up the leagues to gain his experience & at QPR he knows how we work & what is expected

Great player, average manager under tough circumstances. Under TF’s management plan any manager is going to be severely restricted, just wish he would sell up and quit.

Well choked up that he couldn’t finish the job and take them down still I’m sure they have the right man in place to finish them off haha
