Axed QPR man tipped to bounce back

QPR boss Mark Hughes has insisted that Shaun Wright-Phillips still has a major role to play despite recently being dropped.

Hughes has made changes.

Wright-Phillips has flattered to deceive since his summer move from Manchester City and has been on the bench for Rangers’ last two matches.

But Hughes, who also managed the player at City, believes he will bounce back.

“Shaun has just been struggling for a little bit of form,” said Hughes.

“Having worked with Shaun for a long time I know exactly what he is. He gives so much in training and in games and he’ll never say he’s struggling.

“But I think some players sometimes just need to be taken out of the fray to give them time to recuperate.

“Shaun will be a big player for us from now until the end of the season, definitely.”
