Austin faces month out and Mackie could miss three months

Charlie Austin faces a month on the sidelines and Jamie Mackie could be out for three months.

Both QPR players suffered hamstring injuries during the 4-0 defeat against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Friday.

Austin, who has scored seven goals for the R’s this season, limped off during the second half, while Mackie was replaced at half-time after suffering his injury soon after coming off the bench.

Mackie, who returned to Loftus Road during the summer for second spell at QPR, was recently out with a groin problem and has not started a match since the opening-day defeat at Charlton.

A scan has shown that Mackie suffered a significant tear to his right hamstring.
