‘Anyone but Tim Sherwood’ – QPR fans react to Ramsey sacking

QPR fans on Twitter have broadly welcomed Neil Warnock’s new role as interim head coach – and have urged the club’s hierarchy to take their time in appointing a long-term replacement.

Many supporters want Warnock – who managed the club between 2010 and 2012 – to stay for the rest of the season, following Chris Ramsey’s sacking on Wednesday night.

And some are pushing the case for the likes of Shaun Derry and Clint Hill to be given a role.

But one man who does not seem popular with Rangers fans is Tim Sherwood. A close ally of Ramsey when the pair were at Tottenham, Sherwood had talks about the vacant post in February before taking over as Aston Villa manager. He was sacked as Villa boss last month and has once again been linked with Loftus Road – but supporters do not seem to want him.

  • We're 13th and its November, talk of "consolidating" is ridiculous. I love Warnock but he's not the man for us now, we need a longer term plan not a short term fix. We need to get a manager in who can take the club forward, give them the rest of this season to mould the side, with no expectations and build for a promotion push next season.

Personally I'd like Nigel Pearson or Paul Lambert, they're young enough to have the drive and hunger to build a team but also with a decent amount of experience.

  • At least Sherwood has some passion in his body!
Imo he would be the perfect fit for Rangers.
