Wins for Ruislip and duo are called up

Ruislip Eagles took revenge for a narrow defeat against Leeds Hornets earlier in the season by beating them 26-24.

Only nine players made the trip north but they were determined to clinch a third successive victory after beating Deva HC (33-25) and Olympia London (27-24).

Ruislip took control in the final 15 minutes and are in third place in the National League ahead of ‘March madness’ clashes with London GD and Salford HC, as well as a difficult cup game against Olympic Catuvellauni.

Team v Leeds Hornets: Tibor Szerencse (goalkeeper) – Hannes Mazur (6 goals), Tobias Stockfleth (6), Jozsef Csontos (4), Marc Fayemi (4), Hadrien Pollino (3), Kuba Brzozowski (2), Fabien Colette (1), Stephen Raducki.

And it was a brilliant weekend for the Ruislip Eagles Ladies team, who beat arch-rivals London GD 21-11 in the EHA National Cup.

Head coach Melanie Chowns and her players were delighted by the impressive win and a great performance.

Other Ruislip Eagles players were in action at the weekend, with Stefan Bauer and Lucas Carstens helping their university team Imperial College reach the British University Championship finals that will take place in March.

Gil Lewis and Oli Barton, representing Brunel University, gave it their all against strong opposition but could not qualify to the big event.

Finally, Oliver Bray and Anthony Wodzicki, who play for Ealing Handball Club’s junior team and recently made convincing debuts for Ruislip Eagles in the London League, have been selected for the England Handball Association Regional Academy, which could lead to an England Under-16 call-up.
