Hounslow’s Mo Farah recorded his first victory of the year as he won the 3,000m at the Glasgow Indoor Grand Prix.

Farah, the double World and Olympic champion at 5,000m and 10,000m, came home in seven minutes, 39.55 seconds.

He beat Kenyan Augustine Choge by 1.11 seconds in 7:40.66, with Ethiopia’s Dawit Wolde in third.

However, Farah will miss next month’s World Indoor Championships in Oregon to focus on the defence of his Olympic titles in Rio.

Acton’s Dan Bramble finished fifth in the long jump with a distance of 7.83m, 27 centimetres behind the winner Markus Rehm.
