United lose Soares but Mulley returns

Top scorer Louie Soares has left Hayes & Yeading United but popular midfielder James Mulley returned on a busy transfer deadline day for the club.

Winger Soares, who has 15 league goals to his name, joined Blue Square Bet Premier rivals Grimsby Town on an 18-month deal after just six months with United.

However, the news was tempered with the arrival of Mulley on a month’s loan from AFC Wimbledon.

The versatile midfielder, 23, initially joined Yeading as a 16-year-old and was United’s longest serving player before moving to Chelmsford in 2010.

Last year he joined AFC Wimbledon and has made 14 appearances for the League Two club this season.

United boss Nas Bashir has also extended the loan of Dagenham striker Phil Walsh until the end of the season, while releasing utility player Jordan Rose and youth team goalkeeper Rourke Pickford.
