Hendon look at veteran striker Rankin

Hendon are giving a trial to former Brentford striker Isaiah Rankin.

The 33-year-old featured on Tuesday night as the Greens drew 2-2 in a pre-season friendly at Cobham, where Casey Maclaren and Greg Ngoyi scored Hendon’s goals.

Rankin, who started his career with Arsenal, made 82 league appearances during a two-year spell at Brentford, scoring 15 goals.

He has played for a host of other clubs, including Barnsley and Bradford, and is a free agent after leaving Forest Green at the end of last season.

Meanwhile, Hendon have signed 22-year-old defender Liam Hind, who was with Walton Casuals last season.
