Wealdstone have added former Brentford midfielder David Hunt to their squad for next season.

The 33-year-old, who can also play in defence, joins the Stones from National League South rivals Margate.

Hunt had more than 400 Football League appearances to his name, and has played for Crystal Palace, Leyton Orient, Northampton Town, Shrewsbury Town, Crawley Town, Oxford United and Barnet during his professional career.

He made 55 appearances for Brentford between 2009 and 2011, and was part of the Bees squad that won the League Two title in 2008-09.

Wealdstone manager Gordon Bartlett said: “We are pleased to announce Hunty has joined us as he fits the profile we are looking for this season.

“With his experience, ability, strength and size, I’m sure he will have a very positive influence both on and off the pitch as we continue rebuilding the squad.”

Hunt’s former Margate team-mate Danny Green has also made the switch to the Stones this summer, as has Hayes & Yeading United striker Elliot Benyon.
