Babb adds three at Hayes and Yeading

Hayes and Yeading United boss Phil Babb has added three players to his squad in the shape of midfielders Matty Harriott and David Ijaha and defender Matt Ruby.

Harriott, 21, spent two spells on loan at the club last season from Northampton but ended the campaign at Conference Premier club Welling.

Now a free agent, Harriott has opted to rejoin United ahead of interest from other clubs.

Ijaha, 24, is a powerful midfielder who has been a long-term target for United.

The former Harrow Borough man has finally made the switch after spending the last 18 months at Tonbridge Angels.

Ruby, meanwhile, returns to the club four years after leaving for Havant and Waterlooville.

The centre-back first joined United in August 2008 from Woking and helped the club to promotion from Conference South.

He made 94 appearances in all competitions during his two seasons with Hayes and Yeading, and has since played for Hampton and Richmond Borough and Maidenhead.

  • Shoddy journalism, Harriott signed for Welling in pre season then asked to be released and then days later siged for Hayes without playing for Welling.
