Higgins agrees three-year Middlesex deal

Middlesex batsman Ryan Higgins has signed a new three-year deal with the club.

Higgins, 20, broke into the first-team last season, playing in eight T20 Blast matches and six Royal London One-Day Cup games.

The former England Under-19 international hit an unbeaten 44 on his debut, in a T20 win over Somerset, and averaged 30 in the competition.

Middlesex managing director of cricket Angus Fraser said: “Ryan made a really encouraging impression on everybody at Middlesex during his first full season on our staff.

“When playing for the first XI he gave everyone a number of glimpses of what he is capable of producing and he was also outstanding in the second XI.

“We have high hopes of him developing into a fine cricketer, and this contract reflects that.”
