Woodrow features as Fulham youngsters lose to Middlesbrough

Cauley Woodrow played 45 minutes as Fulham’s Under-23s were beaten 2-1 by their Middlesbrough counterparts on Friday.

Sean Kavanagh, Matt O’Riley and George Williams also started the game, but the inclusion of Woodrow casts doubt over his involvement in the first-team fixture against Reading.

The striker, loaned out to Burton Albion last season, had a couple of shots early in the match while Williams put an effort into the side netting.

Magnus Norman in the Fulham goal made a couple of saves but Boro broke through in first-half stoppage time, with Patrick Reading pouncing.

Mattias Kait forced a save just after the break but the visitors went 2-0 up when Marcus Tavernier converted a through pass.

Stephen Humphrys scored from the edge of the box almost immediately to reduce the arrears but, despite late efforts from Steven Sessegnon and Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson, Fulham couldn’t level.
