Symons left frustrated after Fulham lose two-goal lead

Fulham manager Kit Symons described his team’s surrendering of a two-goal lead at Charlton as “inexplicable”.

The Whites were cruising with 10 minutes left, with goals from Ryan Tunnicliffe and Ross McCormack having put them in a commanding position.

Charlton pulled goal back and then equalised deep into stoppage time to snatch a point.

“We’ve got to make better decisions at key moments in games. It’s incredibly disappointing and frustrating,” Symons said after the 2-2 draw.

“To be 2-0 up and cruising and then throw it away is inexplicable. We should have got a third and killed the game off but we didn’t make good decisions in the final third or take the chances we made.

Ross McCormack’s strike made it 2-0 and looked like being enough to win the game

“It appears they switched off and thought they had the game won. If you don’t take your chances you’ve at least got to do your jobs right at the other end, but we conceded two free headers and threw two points away.

“We’re good enough and capable of beating anyone, but we need to make better decisions at those crucial moments in games. It’s those fine margins that are stopping us being consistent.”

The results leaves Fulham 13th in the Championship table after 10 matches.

McCormack’s goal was his seventh of the season

  • Kit has got to go as he does not seem to be able to gee the players up and this has been happening too often.
Symons has no excuses anymore as this is his team.
His decision making re subs at Charlton seen so badly timed O,Hara
should have stayed on he is a fighter.
I could go on but we are too far into the nseason to stay the way we are .Kit should go .

  • no surprises - O'Hara had the midfield screwed down tight and Symons withdrew him . What is this man on ? A ridiculous decision

  • This is not inexplicable; it happens too often. Our weaknesses are known by all the other teams. We need to fix this now if we don't there is no chance of the play offs. Kit it is time to stand up and be counted. COYW.
