Smith sidelined for up to six weeks and Bettinelli facing long spell out

Fulham striker Matt Smith has been ruled out for up to six weeks and goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli faces even longer on the sidelines after their collision on Tuesday.

Both suffered knee ligament damage when they clashed while chasing a ball played into the penalty area in the defeat at Hull.

Smith’s recovery time has been set at four to six weeks but Bettinelli’s injury looks more severe.

Meanwhile, new signing Tim Ream is unlikely to be fit enough to play in Saturday’s home game with Huddersfield.

The United States defender had not played for Bolton this season as his future at the club was up in the air.
