Silva: Fulham still waiting on Anguissa decision

Marco Silva says Fulham are still waiting on Napoli to decide whether they will buy Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa after his loan spell ends.

The midfielder has made 21 Serie A appearances on loan at the Italian club this season and they have an option to sign him on a permanent deal.

“He’s on loan, the club has the option and of course we have to wait until the moment of the option,” Whites boss Silva said.

“They have a timeline to decide and we have to wait for that decision.”

Silva also said there has been no agreement reached as of yet over a new contract for young midfielder Tyrese Francois, whose current deal runs out at the end of the season.

The 21-year-old started the first game of the Championship season against Middlesbrough but injury and Silva’s wealth of options in central midfield means Francois has not played in the league since the second game of the campaign.

“Sometimes yes, other times no,” Silva added when asked if talks had progressed.

“I would like to have a different answer for you now. I keep speaking with him, of course he’s been working with me every single day and I would like to have some news as soon as I can but at this moment there’s nothing new on this situation.

“We have some decisions to make of course. We have a big number of players in the last year of their contracts and we have to decide.

“The main thing for us is to get the title and when we get it the decisions will start to be made. They are important decisions for us as a club, for the players as well, and they will hear it from me first of all.”
