‘Realism’ from Parker after Fulham lose again

Scott Parker urged Fulham’s players to keep fighting after the defeat at Leicester but accepts relegation looms.

The Whites were beaten 3-1 at the King Power Stadium and have now lost six matches in a row – and 10 of their past 11.

They remain second from bottom of the table, 13 points from safety, and a return to the Championship now looks inevitable despite them showing some battling qualities since Parker took caretaker charge following the recent sacking of Claudio Ranieri.

“It’s going to be really tough. I have a real realism,” said Parker.

“I sit here with realism. I understand the situation. I’m not blinded by that.

“While it’s still mathematically possible, we’re still not done. It’s been a tough year but the players still have a lot to play for.

“Whether we’re down or whatever, every game will be a cup final for us.”
