Jokanovic calls for ‘ambition’ in transfer market

Lucas Piazon is set to extend his stay with Fulham – and boss Slavisa Jokanovic says he wants to add “two or three more players” in the January transfer window.

Piazon, who has played 18 times for the Whites this season, tweeted after the win over Barnsley on Saturday that he will be signing an extension to his loan deal with Chelsea.

Jokanovic confirmed the news and urged the Fulham hierarchy to back his side’s play-off push.

“He [Piazon] is going to sign an extension,” Jokanovic said.

“I am happy with my team. But we have to show some kind of ambition and we have to bring some additions to this team. We are talking about two or three players.

“The players need that help. They played very good today but in front of us is a tough competition.

“I expect Fulham are going to make some additions for this team, show ambition and not surrender.

“In front of us is 21 games and our mission is to push this team to the highest level.”
