Parker proud despite Fulham’s defeat

Scott Parker was full of praise for his Fulham side despite being on the receiving end of a 4-0 FA Cup humbling by Manchester City.

The Whites had to play over 80 minutes of the game with 10 men after captain Tim Ream was dismissed for hauling down Gabriel Jesus in the box.

Although Parker’s men only managed to create one shot on target in the entire contest, the former England international was extremely upbeat.

He said: “I’ve been in this job for a year and it’s one of the most proud I have ever been of them.

“The challenge ahead today was mammoth and I asked the team to show personality and be brave. I see a team that were committed and were brave in what they were doing.”

He added: “They were putting themselves in positions and putting themselves on offer to try and show an identity and show what we’re about and I saw that in abundance – that’s what makes me most pleased.”
