Parker insists Fulham will turn the corner

Scott Parker insists Fulham will improve following their poor recent results.

The Whites were booed off by some of their fans after conceding a stoppage-time equaliser in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with West Brom.

Martin Jol’s side have only four points from their opening four league games of this season and, including their dismal end to last term, have not won at home in their last six attempts.

But Parker, recently signed from Tottenham, dismissed the suggestion that they are already under pressure.

He said: “We all want to get the results and we’re striving to get them. I’m sure if we carry on the way we’re going and we keep improving [we’ll be okay].

“There are vast improvements week in, week out. Hopefully, if we keep taking it in small steps, the results will come.

“It was very disappointing that we didn’t get the result in the end but the performance was pretty good.”

Jol’s side looked largely comfortable in the game and led through Steve Sidwell’s 22nd-minute volley before the Baggies drew level.

Parker added: “We absolutely dominated the first half and deserved to go 1-0 up.

“In the second half we came under the cosh a little bit, which you’d probably expect having dominated so much – it often goes that way.

“I still thought we had the edge though and probably deserved the result.”
