Late Newcastle goal sends Fulham out of Carabao Cup

A stoppage-time goal sent Fulham out of the Carabao Cup
Yoane Wissa, making his first start for Newcastle since his summer move from Brentford, scored after 10 minutes – thanks largely to an error by keeper Benjamin Lecomte.
Sasa Lukic equalised six minutes later and Fulham caused the home side problems.
However, with the quarter-final looking likely to go to penalties, Lewis Miley headed home Sandro Tonali ‘s corner.
It meant yet another exit in the later stages of a cup competition for Fulham, who were looking to finally make it to Wembley.
They went behind when Lecomte palmed Jacob Murphy’s low cross straight to Wissa, who helped himself to his first Magpies goal.
The response was swift – Antonee Robinson crossed from the left and the unmarked Lukic headed home.
Fulham came under pressure in the second half and Joachim Andersen turned Murphy’s cross into his own net, but the goal was disallowed as the Newcastle winger was offside.
When Lecomte produced a superb save to deny Miley, a shootout seemed imminent, but the youngster netted from the resulting corner to take the holders through in dramatic fashion.
