Aleksandar Mitrović scored after just two minutes on his first start since joining Fulham permanently as they drew 2-2 with Celta Vigo in a friendly at Craven Cottage.

The Serbia international, who recently completed his move from Newcastle, collected a pass from fellow new arrival André Schürrle, turned his marker and slotted into the bottom corner.

Mitrović also set up the Whites’ second goal, with Aboubakar Kamara drilling home to restore the lead in the 17th minute after Dennis Eckert had headed Celta level.

Gustavo Cabral took advantage of some slack Fulham defending to nod in Iago Aspas’ free-kick and make it 2-2 three minutes before half-time.

Fulham fielded all their other summer signings in the starting line-up except defender Alfie Mawson, whose transfer from Swansea was finalised only two days ago.

Former Nice duo Jean Michaël Seri and Maxime Le Marchand both completed 90 minutes, as did goalkeeper Fabri, whose point-blank save denied Claude Beauvue a second-half winner.

Fulham: Fabri; Christie (Fossey 81), Le Marchand, Ream, R Sessegnon; McDonald; Kamara, Cairney (Johansen 61), Seri, Schürrle (S Sessegnon 69); Mitrović (Kebano 81).
