Aleksandar Mitrovic overcame a fever before scoring a dramatic stoppage-time winner for Fulham against Huddersfield.

Boss Claudio Ranieri revealed he was concerned the Serbian would not be able to finish the match before he swept home Ryan Sessegnon’s pass right at the death.

“I wanted to make two changes at half-time but Alfie Mawson was injured and I had to wait to put Sessegnon on,” Ranieri explained.

“So I couldn’t take risks because Mitrovic played yesterday and the day before with a fever – I didn’t know if he could continue.

“Fortunately he is a strong man and finished the match. He didn’t have a fever in the morning of the game.”
