Magath defiant after Fulham are thrashed

Under-fire manager Felix Magath again insisted he is the right man to lead Fulham following the 5-1 thrashing at Derby.

The German, barracked by some fans after the midweek home defeat against Wolves, has seen his side lose all four of their opening Championship matches,

But he said: “The quality is fine. I’m convinced the quality is very good.

“We do not have any team confidence because of the results. We can’t show what we are able to do.

“I have pressure because I would like to be playing for the first places not the last. I have to react and I have to bring some new players in.

“It was clear before the game that Derby are one of the best teams. You can lose against this team but not in this manner. I am not satisfied with the situation.

“We could have had a draw a win in the first three games. But this was the worst performance so far.

“I feel for the fans who have come and supported us. It was not a good evening for them.”
