Kamara’s double gives Fulham derby victory over QPR

Fulham 2 QPR 1

Aboubakar Kamara scored both Fulham’s goals as they triumphed in the west London derby.

Jordan Hugill capitalised on some poor Whites defending to put QPR ahead after just four minutes at Craven Cottage.

Todd Kane’s cross was deflected towards the on-loan West Ham striker, who shinned the ball over the line from a yard out.

Another Kane cross almost to a Rangers second – Fulham defender Tim Ream inadvertently turned the former Chelsea man’s delivery against his own post.

But Rangers, yet to keep a clean sheet this season and now without a win in their past five matches, saw their own defensive shortcomings exposed once again.

Kamara, playing in place of the suspended Aleksandar Mitrovic, hauled Fulham level by heading home Dennis Odoi’s 27th-minute cross.

That galvanised the home side, who almost went ahead when Ivan Cavaleiro’s effort struck the post shortly after the half-hour mark.

They eventually took the lead in the 64th minute courtesy of a mistake by Joe Lumley.

Keeper Lumley attempted to play the ball out from the back but instead played in straight to Stefan Johansen, who set up Kamara to apply the finish.

Fulham continued to dominate and they hit the post for a second time when Anthony Knockaert fired against the woodwork after being set up by Bobby Decordova-Reid.
