Jol: Berbatov has filled the void at Fulham

Manager Martin Jol says Dimitar Berbatov has filled the void at Fulham left by the likes of Clint Dempsey and Moussa Dembele.

With Dempsey and Dembele moving to Tottenham and Danny Murphy also leaving Craven Cottage in the summer, the Whites were tipped by many to struggle this season.

But striker Berbatov has been a revelation since his move from Manchester United, firmly establishing himself as Fulham’s talisman.

“He’s doing his job and I’m very satisfied,” said Jol.

“For me the most important thing is that after losing Clint Dempsey, Dembele, Murphy and [the injured] Bryan Ruiz, I’m very happy that he came to this club, because otherwise maybe we could have had a little problem.

“He’s a quality player and the good thing about my squad is they realise that Berbatov is an outstanding player and that he is the one, when Bryan Ruiz isn’t there, who is keeping us together.”
