Fulham youngster McAvoy signs new two-year deal

Fulham youngster Connor McAvoy has signed a new two-year contract.

The 21-year-old defender, whose new deal includes the option of an additional year, has been with Fulham since the age of nine.

McAvoy told the club website: “I’m very happy to have the chance to stay at Fulham. I know the club very well and feel like I belong here. I’ve enjoyed the last 11 years and I don’t see myself anywhere else.

“It was a very easy decision to re-sign here. I enjoy coming in and working hard every day and I get on well with everyone. It’s where I’ve always wanted to play from a young age.”

McAvoy has been out of action since suffering a knee injury in January while on loan at Scottish club Patrick Thistle. He previously had a spell on loan at Wealdstone.

“Hopefully I won’t be out for too much longer and once I’m back I want to return to full fitness as soon as I can,” he said.
