Fulham winger Kevin out for several weeks and faces surgery

Fulham’s record signing Kevin faces several weeks on the sidelines with a foot injury.

The winger went off during the recent win against Sunderand and is likely to require surgery.

Whites boss Marco Silva said ahead of this weekend’s game against Tottenham: “About Kevin, as the feeling was after the game, it looked serious, and he’s going to be out.

“We are waiting, but probably he’s going to have surgery next Monday and he’s going to be out for some weeks.

“It’s the fifth metatarsal and he’s going to be out. Soon you are going to have more feedback from our medical staff.”

The injury is a major blow for Kevin and Fulham as the club chases a European place.

He was beginning to find some form following his big-money move to west London.

“It’s a big blow for us, definitely. It’s a big blow for us, and for him personally, because slowly we started to see the reason why we signed him,” said Silva.

“We showed the trust in him. Even the game against Sunderland, that 40 minutes that he played, he probably was one of the best players on the pitch during that period.”
