Fulham v Stoke player ratings

Fulham’s involvement in this season’s League Cup was ended by Stoke. Here’s how we rated the Whites players in their 1-0 defeat at Craven Cottage.

Joe Lewis: 6
A decent performance on his debut. Looked solid enough and was not at fault for the goal.

Jazz Richards: 7
Produced a strong all-round performance, putting in dangerous crosses late on as Fulham pushed for an equaliser.

Richard Stearman: 7
Made a string of fearless tackles and blocks, putting his body on the line. But he failed to deal with the run of Peter Crouch for Stoke’s goal

Dan Burn: 6
Didn’t do a lot wrong defensively but his distribution from the back was poor at times.

Tim Ream: 7
Easily adjusted after moving to left-back, providing an outlet going forward, but his sloppy passing gifted Peter Odemwingie a chance early on

Alex Kacaniklic: 6
Made a few penetrating runs early in the game, and forced keeper Shay Given to make a save, but was substituted after fading in the second half.

Lasse Vigen Christensen: 7
After a slow start he grew more influential in the game. Should have scored, however, either when he met a cross at the far post or when he had an open goal to aim at following Given’s poor clearance.

Sakari Mattila: 7
An encouraging display on his full debut. He made some important challenges to keep Stoke at bay in the first half.

Ben Pringle: 7
Provided a threat when on the ball, although an unfortunate error in the build-up to Crouch’s goal proved decisive.

Ross McCormack: 6
Had a frustrating game, and his poor end-product on the night was epitomised when he failed to finish from Pringle’s cross.

Cauley Woodrow: 5
Was on the periphery of the game for the majority of his 66 minutes on the pitch

Ryan Tunnicliffe: 6
Injected some energy into Fulham’s midfield as they searched for an equaliser late on.

Moussa Dembele: 6
Combined well with McCormack after coming on and fired over the bar with a volley.
