Fulham trio to miss Cardiff game

Fulham will face Cardiff on Wednesday without Fabio Carvalho, Joe Bryan and Ivan Cavaleiro.

Bryan and Cavaliero suffered knocks on Saturday during the 4-1 win over QPR.

And Carvalho, who has been out with a toe injury, has tested positive for Covid-19.

“Unfortunately, Fabio got Covid,” said boss Marco Silva. “He’s now recovering from that situation.

“We think everything is normal, and we don’t think he has a bad reaction. But he has to stop 10 days and now has to recover to get his fitness back.”

However, defender Kenny Tete is back in full training and available to play some part.

“He can be involved if I decide,” said Silva.

“Of course he’s not ready to play 90 minutes, but he’s ready to help the team.

“He’s like Tom Cairney; he needs more training sessions and minutes in his legs to be (fully) ready.”

Silva was cagey about Marek Rodak getting a run of games in goal after displacing Paulo Gazzaniga against Rangers, but confirmed the Slovakia international will start against the Bluebirds.

He said: “We’ll see about the future, but Marek will start tomorrow night.”

The Whites take on a Cardiff side which has lost six Championship matches on the bounce.

“They have lost six and it’s tough, and their confidence is not at the top,” Silva said.

“But they are a physical team and it’s up to us to control the game we want to play.”
