Kasami leaves as Fulham sign left-back

Olympiakos have signed Pajtim Kasami from Fulham, who have completed a season-long loan deal for Bayer Leverkusen’s Greek left-back Konstantinos Stafylidis.

Midfielder Kasami, 22, was widely regarded as one of Europe’s brightest prospects when Fulham signed him from Italian club Palermo on a four-year contract three years ago.

But he struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular and ended the 2012-13 season back in his native Switzerland, on loan at Lucerne.

He returned to London last summer, netted the winner in Fulham’s opening-day victory at Sunderland and scored brilliant goal in their 4-1 win at Crystal Palace in October.

However, Kasami continued to flatter to deceive and becomes the latest player to move on following the club’s relegation to the Championship.

The deal for Stafylidiz, 20, includes an option to make his move to Craven Cottage permanent.

Stafylidiz, who has made one appearance for Greece, was signed by Bundesliga club Leverkusen from PAOK two years ago.

His arrival at Fulham was announced 24 hours after the Whites confirmed the signing of Scotland striker Ross McCormack from Leeds United.

They also recently brought in ex-Schalke defender Tim Hoogland, Australia striker Adam Taggart and defenders Kay Voser and Shaun Hutchinson from Basel and Motherwell respectively.
