Skipper passed fit for vital Fulham game

Fulham captain Brede Hangeland is available for selection for Saturday’s home clash with fellow strugglers Sunderland.

The defender has not featured since he was substituted at half-time against Crystal Palace in October.

He has been struggling with a sciatic nerve problem but returned to full training this week.

Whites boss Rene Meulensteen said: “Brede is in full training with us and is up for selection. He has fully recovered and is progressing well.”

Kieran Richardson is also back after hamstring tightness kept him out of the FA Cup tie at Norwich.

Keeper Martin Stekelenburg is recovering from an ankle problem and remains a doubt.
