Fulham performances ‘not good enough’ – Jokanovic

Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic has admitted recent performances have not lived up to expectations.

The Whites have needed injury-time equalisers to salvage draws in their last two home games, Denis Odoi the hero against Preston and Tom Cairney preventing a shock loss to bottom of the table Bolton on Saturday.

Sandwiched in between those games was a defeat at Aston Villa, a run of results leaving Fulham 12th, three points off the play-offs.

“At the moment we are not performing at the level of our expectations,” Jokanovic said.

“This performance [against Bolton] is not good enough if you compare it to the expectations around this team and this club.

“We shot 19 times but we didn’t find a clear way to score a goal. In the end, it’s not good enough for us.”

Jokanovic was also unhappy that Floyd Ayite’s 15th minute goal was disallowed for offside, but said the officials were not entirely to blame.

“The two players around the ball, Freddo [Ryan Fredericks] and Floyd, both were onside and I don’t know the
reason for disallowing the goal.

“We still complicated our life much more with sleeping in one important moment and they scored a goal without creating any chances, in some kind of ridiculous situation.”
