Fulham keen for Bassey to sign new contract

Alvaro Arbeloa has confirmed that Fulham are keen to extend Calvin Bassey’s contract.

The defender, 26, has made 102 Premier League appearances for the Whites since arriving at Craven Cottage in 2023.

Head coach Arbeloa said: “I’ve been talking about Calvin with the club and one of our goals is renewing his contract, because he’s, for me, right now, he’s one of the best centre-backs, nt just in the Premier League, in the world.

“He’s one of our captains and he’s been one of our best players on the pitch, and for me he’s one of the best centre-back in the world.

“So I think he has to stay with us because he’s happy. I think he’s enjoying this season and obviously he’s one of our targets, is to renew his contract.”
