Fulham will make a decision on the future of goalkeeper David Stockdale this summer.
The 27-year-old is currently on loan at Hull City and has indicated he does not want to stay at Craven Cottage unless he becomes the club’s number one.
With current first choice Mark Schwarzer having been offered a new contract and the Whites looking for a new keeper, Stockdale’s future may lie elsewhere.
Fulham boss Martin Jol admitted: “I can’t see David coming back here and being a number two again.
“Whether or not to make Stockdale the number one is a decision we’ve got to make.
“Either I get another keeper who is number two and get Stockdale back, or Schwarzer will be the number one and we get another keeper, or I get another number one – there are a few scenarios.
“David is a terrific keeper. He wanted to play and he wants to be a number one and he is probably a number one.
“We want to be better and better. We want to keep our best players but we will have to do something if they don’t want to sign – it’s not always in our hands.”
