Fulham confirm Amorebieta departure

Fulham have sold defender Fernando Amorebieta to Sporting Gijon for an undisclosed fee.

Amorebieta, 31, joined Fulham on a free transfer in the summer of 2013 and made 48 appearances for the club, scoring twice.[phone][/phone]

He had two loan spells at Championship rivals Middlesbrough, playing his last game for Fulham in the 3-0 defeat to Brentford in April.

The permanent signing of Michael Madl and the arrival of Chelsea centre-back Tomas Kalas on a season-long loan deal pushed the Venezuelan further down the pecking order.
