Silva savours ‘great win’ for Fulham

Leeds 2 Fulham 3

Willian scored his first goal for Fulham as they came from behind to win at Elland Road.

Rodrigo’s 20th-minute header put Leeds ahead but Aleksandar Mitrovic quickly equalised.

Bobby De Cordova-Reid put Fulham ahead with 16 minutes remaining and Willian added a third before Crysencio Summerville pulled a goal back for Leeds, whose fans turned on manager Jesse Marsch.

The result meant back-to-back wins for the Whites, whose encouraging return to the Premier League continues.

Mitrovic took full advantage of poor Leeds defending to score from close range when unmarked.

And as the home crowd turned increasingly irate in the second half, De Cordova-Reid glanced in a header and Willian tapped in the visitors’ third.

“It was a great win for us,” Fulham boss Marco Silva declared.

“It was well deserved – we were the best team. We knew with our quality that we would create chances.

“To come back like we did is unbelievable from our players and they deserve all the credit.

“We believed in believed in ourselves, created a lot of chances and I think deserved the three points.”
