Fulham boss Silva considering Francois loan move

Marco Silva admits Fulham midfielder Tyrese Francois needs to get more playing time – but the Whites boss is undecided about whether to loan him out before next week’s deadline.

The 23-year-old Australian has only made two brief substitute appearances this season and last year saw a 12-month loan stint with Croatian side HNK Gorica cut short by injury.

Fulham have allowed Jay Stansfield and Luke Harris to join Birmingham and Exeter respectively on loan and several of the Under-21 squad are spending time with clubs in League One and League Two.

Silva says Francois might be allowed to leave next week if the circumstances are right for the club.

“We haven’t decided yet, we have one more week to do it,” Silva explained.

“Some players have gone on loan because we need them play more games. Luke Stansfield is a good example of that.

“With Ty and some others we have to decide because our squad is very short on numbers.

“But because we are doing the right things and taking care of the players we are in a position where we don’t have many injuries right now. But we have to be ready if we do.”

“Ty needs to play games, we tried last season for him to be out but unfortunately he got some bad injuries. Unfortunately injuries have broken his momentum as well.

“Let’s see what happens, if he doesn’t go on loan he will stay here for the rest of the season.”
