Fulham begin Germany trip with a draw

Fulham began their pre-season trip to Germany with a goalless draw against Danish side HB Koge in Leipzig.

Veteran goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, who captained the team before boss Martin Jol changed his entire XI at half-time, produced a decent save before Whites striker Marcello Trotta went close with a volley.

Riise went close for Jol’s men.

New signings Sascha Riether and Mladen Petric came on as substitutes at the break to make their Fulham debuts.

And Croatian forward Petric missed a good chance to open the scoring when he headed over.

John Arne Riise shot straight at the keeper and later dragged an effort wide as Jol’s men tried in vain to break the deadlock.

Fulham’s next friendly is on Wednesday against Lokomotive Leipzig – who also play Brentford this month – before their trip concludes with a game against Kaiserslautern on Saturday.
