Woodrow returns to action in Under-21 game

Cauley Woodrow made his return from injury as Fulham Under-21s were beaten 3-0 by Arsenal on Wednesday night.

The 21-year-old played 57 minutes in his first appearance in a Whites shirt since breaking his toe in January’s FA Cup tie at Sheffield Wednesday.

Goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli also got vital minutes under his belt as he continues his comeback from knee ligament damage which has sidelined him for most of this season.

Shaun Hutchinson, Sakari Mattila and Emerson Hyndman were all included but Arsenal’s youngsters overpowered the home side with all three goals coming in the first 40 minutes.

Frenchman Ismael Bennacer put the Gunners ahead before London-born left-back Marc Bola thumped in the second from almost 35 yards.

Reiss Nelson added the third shortly before half-time from close range.
