Boro offer Fulham £8m and Kike for McCormack

Middlesbrough have offered Fulham £8m plus Spanish striker Kike for Ross McCormack.

The Whites previously rejected a bid from Boro for the Scotsman, who was signed from Leeds in a big-money deal 18 months ago.

McCormack has been among the Championship’s most prolific strikers for four of the last five seasons and has scored 36 times in 82 games in all competitions for Fulham, including 17 already this term.

Leaders Middlesbrough are looking for a forward to enhance their promotion push, and reportedly also have Blackburn’s Jordan Rhodes in their sights.

But their main target is McCormack, and they have now added Kike to the deal to tempt Fulham, who are under a transfer embargo so cannot buy players outright.

Kike, 26, scored 10 times in 45 Championship games last season but only has four in 18 appearances in the current campaign.
