Parker expects Tosin to stay with Fulham

Fulham boss Scott Parker insists Fulham are determined to keep Tosin Adarabioyo.

Arsenal and Newcastle have been linked with the centre-back, who has impressed despite the Whites’ relegation from the Premier League.

He was a bargain £2m signing from Manchester City at the start of the season.

“For sure he doesn’t need to go,” Parker said.

“He is a young player who is still improving and has loads to do.

“He has been fantastic for us this year and of course it is always inevitable that every team that is relegated sees other teams coming for your better players.

“But he’s under contract – and I can’t see him going anywhere.”

Fulham also have high hopes for Fabio Carvalho, who scored on full debut against Southampton at the weekend.

Parker is only too aware the likes of Moussa Dembele, Patrick Roberts, and Harvey Elliot have all been spirited away by bigger clubs in recent seasons.

The head coach said: “I think the players you’ve mentioned there are players that have extreme talent that we recognise and that unfortunately for some reason or another we’ve not managed to keep hold of them.

“Fabio is a player that has done that over the last two or three months training with us.

“Probably in the last six or seven weeks he’s gone from just training with first-team players, and happy to be there a little bit, to a player that has shown that he wants to get in this team and he can help us, and I think you could see that in his performance against Southampton.”
