Transfer gossip: Fulham linked with move for Florentino

Some of the transfer speculation in Sunday’s newspapers involving the area’s clubs…

Fulham will rival Leeds United for the signing of Benfica midfielder Florentino Luis, the Mail on Sunday say.

Whites boss Scott Parker is keen to boost his midfield options following the club’s promotion to the Premier League.

Leeds, also promoted, have recently been linked with Florentino.

The Mail on Sunday say Fulham want him too and that he is available for a £2.5m loan fee but that Benfica want £40m at the end of the season to make the deal permanent.

Fulham have also been linked with Wigan left-back Antonee Robinson and Nottingham Forest right-back Matty Cash.

The Sun on Sunday also say Chelsea are closing in on a £40m deal to sign centre-back Lewis Dunk from Brighton.

The Blues made enquiries about Dunk in January and are looking to sign at least one central defender this summer.

The Sun on Sunday claim Fulham are ready to offer Robinson a £50,000-a-week deal on order to secure his signing.

Tottenham are also said to be keen on Dunk, who has made one appearance for England.

But he is Chelsea fan and The Sun on Sunday declare that the player “believes he is on his way to Stamford Bridge.”

Chelsea are considering a move for Watford’s veteran goalkeeper Ben Foster, also according to The Sun on Sunday.

A host of keepers have been linked with Chelsea amid speculation over the future of Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Kepa was dropped by boss Frank Lampard, who has been tipped to look to offload the Spaniard this summer.

The Sun on Sunday say former England international Foster, 37, is being considered by both Chelsea and Everton as a possible money-saving signing.

The newspaper also say Lampard is considering another ex-England keeper, Joe Hart, who is a free agent after leaving Burnley.

The Sunday Mirror tout Leicester keeper Kasper Schmeichel as a possible signing for Chelsea.

Leicester’s England international left-back Ben Chilwell continues to be linked with a move to the Bridge.

The Sunday Times reports that Chelsea are closing in on a deal to sign Chilwell following a “breakthrough” in talks with Leicester.

Meanwhile, Newcastle want QPR transfer target Rob Dickie, it’s claimed.

Dickie is top of Rangers’ wanted list as they look to bring in at least one centre-back this summer.

Several other Championship clubs, including Brentford, have shown an interest in the 24-year-old.

He has a year remaining on his Oxford contract and is expected to move after impressing in League One.

His representatives have been trying to drum up interest among Premier League clubs.

And he has been duly linked with a move to the top flight, with The Sun on Sunday claiming that Newcastle are ready to snap him up.

QPR have identified a number of possible alternative signings, including Northampton’s Charlie Goode.
